CINCO DE MAYO
Date: April 30- May 2, 2010

This Cinco de Mayo celebration is billed as the largest in the state. It draws a large crowd of locals and visitors to enjoy live entertainment, street vendors, a carnival, a parade, and charros. The grand parade takes place at noon on Sunday. More information will be available soon.

SUNNYSIDE COMMUNITY FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Date: July 4, 2010
Location: Sunnyside High School Clem Senn Sports Arena

The fireworks show in Sunnyside was canceled last year due to a lack of funds. HAPO has stepped up this year to ensure that the community of Sunnyside has something to celebrate! The event will of course feature fireworks, but will also showcase a Fourth of July parade of old tractors, a youth bike show, and a Little Miss/Mr. Firecracker pageant.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
Date: August 3, 2010
Location: Central Park, Sunnyside

National Night Out is a national event designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Communities around the country celebrate with a variety of activities and events including block parties, cookouts, visits from local law enforcement, parades, exhibits, flashlight walks, contests, and youth programs.
