GAP 2 GAP RELAY RACE
Date: June 5, 2010
Location: Yakima Greenway

This is the 26th year of the Gap 2 Gap Relay Race in Yakima. The Gap 2 Gap Relay is a multi-sport relay race comprised of five legs. The Elite Course includes a field run, a 20 mile mountain bike, an 8K kayak/canoe leg, a 30 mile road bike, and a 10K run. The Sport Course features an in-line skate leg in place of the kayak/canoe, an 8 mile mountain bike leg, the same 30 mile road bike, and a 5K run. The race takes place on and around the Yakima Greenway, along the scenic Yakima River.

The Junior Gap 2 Gap is a version of the race for kids 6-14. Kids run, bike, rollerblade, paddle in Reflection Pond, and navigate an obstacle course in Sarg Hubbard Park.

All proceeds from the Gap 2 Gap Relay benefit the Yakima Greenway Foundation.

VINTIQUES NORTHWEST NATIONAL CAR SHOW
Date: July 31 - August 1, 2010
Location: Yakima Sun Dome

This event is held on the first weekend of August each year. The public is welcome to view the cars and talk with the owners on Friday and Saturday. There is nightly entertainment, games, and a Poker Run. This event features around 1,000 street rods, and attracts around 15,000 people each year.

HOT SHOTS 3 ON 3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
Date: August 28-29, 2010
Location: Downtown Yakima

The mission of Hot Shots is to provide players with a great event to showcase their skills and have fun against outstanding competition. At the same time, the Yakima Valley Sports Commission welcomes out of town visitors who come for the event.

The tournament started in 2003, and had 217 teams playing on 20 courts throughout downtown Yakima. The tournament is now larger than ever.
