Emergency Loan

As part of our ongoing commitment to support our members and community, HAPO is introducing an Emergency DHS Shutdown Loan for DHS employees who are temporarily without pay due to the shutdown. This program is designed to provide short-term relief for those impacted and help them cover essential expenses until their pay resumes.

Emergency Loan Offer Details

• Term: 6 months (6 payments)
• Interest Rate: 0% (see note below)
• Loan Amount: Up to 100% of monthly government payroll direct deposit (not to exceed $10,000)

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have an open and active HAPO checking account
• Government direct deposit must come into a HAPO account
• Available to DHS employees whose direct deposit is impacted by a shutdown
• Employment listed on the application must reflect a DHS position
• No credit pull required
• Debt Protection is not available for this loan
• Loan will be booked and signed at 18% interest, then modified to 0% after booking
• If the impacted borrower is a joint owner on the account, the primary owner must be included on the application
