Scholarships
Our scholarship application window closes on March 31, 2026. We will notify scholarship applicants with an application status by June 1, 2026.
We are proud to provide $70,000 in educational assistance to entering freshman and college students, as well as those interested in a trade school.
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible in 2026, you must be a primary member in good standing with HAPO Community Credit Union and be enrolling in college as a full-time student with a 3.0 or greater most recent cumulative high school GPA. Past HAPO scholarship award winners are not eligible
to receive an additional HAPO scholarship. Institution/program must be located inside of the United States.
Before you fill out the Scholarship Application Form, please be sure you have the following items prepared:
- LiveNow Certificates (5 Courses)
- Scholarship References (Provide 3)
- Transcripts from your most recent institution
- Up-to-date Resume
- Cover letter information addressing financial/educational/career goals, financial need, and community involvement
Applications must be submitted electronically. Hand delivered or mailed applications will not be accepted.
LiveNow Courses
You must create a profile or login to LIVENOW, and complete 5
of the following 9 courses with a minimum score of 70% on each course. Courses must be completed between January 1, 2026, and March 31, 2026, to qualify. Upon completion, save the certificates for the completed courses and submit them
with your application. Each course will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
Scholarship Payment Details
Scholarship Awards will be paid directly to the Institution that the recipient will be attending. In order for HAPO to provide payment to the Institution, the recipient must provide the following documents by July 13, 2026. If the documents are not provided to HAPO by July 13, 2026, the recipient will forfeit their scholarship.
- W9 (for attending college/university/school)
- Acceptance Letter
Please note, once the award has been issued to the requested school, we cannot re-issue a check to another institution. If the recipient chooses to attend a different institution after the scholarship funds have been issued, they will forfeit the scholarship.
